We organize an open day every year at the beginning of February. If you missed it this year, read how it went.
Open Day 2025
The Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava opened its doors again to the general public and all those interested in studying on Thursday, February 6th, 2025. The Open Day is a great opportunity for future civil engineers to get to know the academic environment of the faculty, laboratories, get acquainted with study programs and modern technologies, or meet with teachers before starting university.
- The welcoming and opening of the Open Day took place in the renovated Aula of Academician Bella with the participation of the Vice-Dean for Education, Assoc. Prof. Petr Makýš and the Vice-Dean for Public Relations and Cooperation with Practice, Prof. Katarína Gajdošová. Ema Pavlíková, a student of the engineering study of Water Structures and Water Management, introduced the faculty, study programs, significant achievements of our students, accommodation options, sports, and university activities to those interested in studying.
- We presented the study programs through practical and interactive demonstrations of activities, works, models, technologies or activities. Some of the skills taught at the faculty could be tried out in reality. They were focused on developments in the field of digitalization of construction, but also on the effective and ecological approach that we apply in the implementation of construction projects. Students tried out virtual reality, a 3D printer, saw interactive demonstrations of models, experimental demonstrations of measurements, a rain simulation experiment, demonstrations of photogrammetric and laser 3D scanning, tested the geotechnical properties of rocks and soils, learned the difference between statics, dynamics or mechanics, got to know the extensive dimensions of architecture and what miracles we can create when working with mathematics.
- At the study department stand, interested parties could learn everything about the admissions process, application submission, admission and enrollment conditions, accommodation, study abroad opportunities, and other practical information necessary for admission to study.
- Tour of the faculty and laboratory premises: Students were able to visit the modernized faculty premises, student relaxation areas, library, classrooms, swimming pool, dining room and other areas in which they could spend the next years of their studies at the faculty. They were also able to take a look at specialized laboratories focused on geodesy and photogrammetry, structural mechanics or visit the Department of Architecture on the 22nd floor of a high-rise building with a beautiful view of Bratislava.
The Open Day event once again confirmed that the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava offers high-quality education and is ready to welcome a students who will grow into a new generation of professionals in the field of civil engineering.
