On the basis of the current development of the coronavirus pandemic and in accordance with the generally binding rules and regulations of the Slovak Republic adopted in an emergency situation or state of emergency, the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering ordered the following measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic:
The teaching, the state examinations, conducting courses, and other professional events organized by the Faculty will be conducted by distance learning for the first three weeks of the spring semester of the academic year 2021/2022, with the exception of:
- Third-level students (PhD students),
- Students in the final years of their first and second degree studies when carrying out experimental measurements and individual consultations as part of their final theses.
The teaching, the state examinations, conducting courses, and other professional events organized by the Faculty will be conducted in full-time form from 4th week onwards, with exceptions, in the spring semester of the academic year 2021/2022.
Exceptions to the full-time form may occur if:
- the lecturer is in isolation due to illness from COVID-19 or in quarantine due to close contact with a positive tested person and while the lecture or seminar cannot be arranged by another lecturer, it may be possible to deliver such teaching online (e.g., by connecting directly to the classroom, or by arranging an alternative teaching date, or by arranging a block of teaching, etc.),
- 5% of the students (and at least two) in the given grade group are tested positive for COVID-19 and send a confirmation of the positive test result to the study department - the whole grade group of the respective study programme will suspend full-time teaching for one week - the teaching will be carried out remotely,
- the teaching in a larger number of year groups will be interrupted for the reason mentioned in point b) of this Article; the full-time teaching in the whole Faculty will be interrupted for one week on the basis of the assessment of the Faculty's Crisis Staff - teaching will be conducted remotely.
Attendance of students in full-time classes and access to Faculty facilities are allowed only in OTP mode (vaccinated, tested every 7 days, or overcame COVID-19 disease not more than 180 days ago), based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
During direct instruction (seminar, lecture, exercise), the upper airways must be covered with a respirator and eating and drinking are prohibited.
The instructor has the right to check the students' compliance with the OTP policy and hygiene measures.
More information regarding the details of the direct form of education will be published shortly.
